What is the registry anyway?
The registry is a humongous database that houses all of your computer’s files and records. I mean it is really extra super BIG! Fortunately, it deposits all of this data in one centralized location. It was first used in the Windows 95 operating system, and has been used in every operating system since then. It stores information about all of your pc system settings, the hardware components and any software that is installed on the system. Simply put, if it’s pertinent, the registry knows about it.
What happens is, every time you tell your pc to do something, you’re actually giving it a command. Well when this happens, the computer automatically goes out and gets the information that you are looking for from this monster database. As you continue to download files on the Internet and you add new applications to your computer, the reg then becomes bigger and bigger. This significantly slows down your computer because Windows now needs more time to load up, fetch, and read the data it has to retrieve.
Just like any other database, the reg becomes a real mess without proper maintenance. And if you let it go too long without getting it the proper attention, you may very well regret it. Like a balloon that you keep blowing air into, if left uncared for, it’ll keep expanding and expanding - until at some point, it becomes so full until… POP! It bursts all over the place. In techno mumbo jumbo that would translate: computer will crash, blue screen, or die :-). While this can be frustrating, there is a solution to help you avoid having this problem happen to you. Investing in the right reg cleaner can save you a lot of headaches and $$$. They’re extremely inexpensive. And they’ll keep your pc running like a top of the line Lexus sedan :-). I’d fetch one quick, fast, and in a hurry if I were you.
